TOMORROW starts here Job description Description: The Business Entity The Service Provider Video Software Solutions (SPVSS) is transforming the future of Video Viewing experience through advanced software development. Our software products and technology are behind more than 300 million Set Top Boxes deployed worldwide. SPVSS develops software for STB client which includes Cisco Videoscape Multiscreen and Cloud DVR, Video Everywhere, High End EPG’s and other STB applications. Using Agile methodology, SPVSS is building a customer-centric culture with self-contained and motivated teams that have clear visibility to our customers. The Team: You will be a contributing member of a scrum team who works for Premier DTH service provider with a strong customer base in EMEA region. This highly visible, high performance team collaborates in a challenging and demanding environment with disruptive technologies. The Tier 1 customer team is part of highly earning revenue teams in SPVSS with outset for high growth with new product launches in the next 1 - 2 years. Role & Responsibilities • You will be core member of team that designs and implements STB EPG software • Will be responsible for software development on Java for latest UI as required by customer. • Collaborate with other leads, product managers and architects to understand the end customer use of the software • Collaborate and work with diverse team that is geographically spread • Analyze and implement new UI requirements from customer. Technical Skills • Strong OOPs fundamentals • Excellent programming skills in Core Java • Fairly good understanding Linux/Unix OS and commands • Familiarity with end-end Software development lifecycle • Excellent team player • Ability to adopt and learn • Good communication skills Qualification & Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering • 2 to 3 years of programming experience in Java Desired Skills • STB domain Knowledge is preferred. • Agile software development methodology and agility to adapt to changing needs • Knowledge of Widgets and Widget controls.
